Dr. Bill Ehlers cultivated his love of veterinary medicine starting in high school where he volunteered at a local veterinary hospital. He decided to pursue veterinary medicine as a career due to the comradery among the veterinarians he was mentored by and the positive and healing nature of the field. He is a 1992 graduate of The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. He started at 434 Animal Hospital in 2002. He has been married for 20 years to his wife Carol, who helps with managing the practice. One of his favorite aspects of 434 Animal Hospital is the comradery between the doctors and staff, and of course the innovation and sharing of knowledge for the treatment of patients. He enjoys running on his off days to unwind and enjoys listening to music, especially progressive artists of the 70s such as Alan Parson's Project, Steely Dan, and Pink Floyd. His favorite concert that he attended was The David Gilmore Concert in Radio City Music Hall, NY in 2006. He has two adopted pets at home. Junior a 12 year old Pug who loves to snack! Winston an 18 year old ginger cat who loves life. Dr. Ehlers is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association and has an interest in internal medicine. In July of 2010, Dr. Ehlers received the Business Person of the Month award from the City of Longwood, and has had the honor of being listed as one of Orlando's top vets by Orlando Magazine for the past three years in a row.
