Our Veterinary Technicians & Assistants

Veterinary Technician

Jackie was born and raised in Central Florida, growing up in a large family where animals of every kind were found in her household. With the launch of Animal Planet, Jackie became interested in working with animals at about age 6. Her interest in Veterinary Medicine followed soon thereafter. Following the death of her father as a senior in high school, Jackie found herself lost in life until stumbling upon a Veterinary Technology program in 2009. During her time in school she interned with many local veterinary hospitals, and after completing her internship with 434 Animal Hospital she was offered a position as Veterinary Technician and has not left since! Her biggest love is being a mom to her toddler daughter, especially enjoying outdoor playtime on her 10-acre property with her family. Her favorite bands include the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers Band, and Slightly Stoopid. She has two dogs, Cooper and Luna, and two cats, Milo and Snoop. She recently adopted Smurph, who lived at 434 Animal Hospital after his rehabilitation from the stray life. She has a full household and would not have it any other way!

Jessica is a native Floridian who attended the University of Central Florida where she graduated with a degree in Philosophy. After graduation, she moved to Washington state to research and educate the public on Southern Resident Killer Whales.  She then completed a Masters Degree in Anthrozoology (the study of the human-animal bond) where her research thesis focused on comparing and analyzing the differences between lifestyle, attachment, and behavior of rural and urban dogs. She moved back to Florida to care for her brother while he underwent chemotherapy and began working at 434 Animal Hospital in 2015. She has recently graduated from St. Petersburg College with her degree in Veterinary Technology and passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam, officially certifying her Veterinary Technology skills. In her free time, she enjoys listening to Bon Iver, spending time with her boyfriend, painting, or working on needlepoint projects. She loves to spend as much time on local trails hiking (pending good weather!) or outside hanging out with her cat-dog Bella! An avid Boxer dog lover, she lost her dog soul-mate Maya in 2020 but she has recently added a new monster to the house, Rylee Jean!

Veterinary Technician

Kristin got her start in the veterinary industry as a kennel technician in Long Island, NY where she was born and raised. From there she pushed her employers to learn the skills required of technicians and began as full time technician in 2014 when she moved to South Florida. In 2016, she joined 434 Animal Hospital after moving to Central Florida with her family. Her favorite aspect of working at 434 Animal Hospital is the great work environment. She loves working with such an awesome team and being able to do what she loves to do every single day. She has various tastes in music and on different days you can catch her listening to different genres. In particular she is a big fan of The Doors. She is also a 90s pop girl and her favorite concert that she has been to is in fact *NSYNC. On her off days she spends as much time with her sweet 10 year old daughter. She loves spending time drawing and painting. You can even find her doodle on her phone in her downtime here! She has 4 dogs at home: Seymore, Bella, Buster, and Blue. They give her many ridiculous stories to tell!

Presley was born and raised in Central Florida and has a keen interest in medicine, both human and animal, in fact, as a child Presley was either a Doctor or a Veterinarian every Halloween! She is attending school now to pursue her medical passion with a degree in Nursing. When Presley is not helping here at 434 Animal Hospital, she likes to spend her time being a Florida girl, through and through. You can typically find her at the beach or out at sea fishing or playing fast-pitch softball! She has been to Hawaii to deep sea fish, where she caught a Wahoo that was nearly as tall as her at only 9 years old! She loves to travel and has visited 28 of 50 United States, as well as Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Isalnd! She enjoys the positive and welcoming atmosphere of Dr. Ehlers and the rest of the team. She is currently the "human" that takes care of two Labradors, Mya and Lulu, and 4 cats, Leegyn, Vinnie, Kaya, and Gravy. And don't let us forget, she is even caring for a baby squirrel whom she has named Finn!
